Quiet Cough by Plum Flower, also known as Ning Sou Wan, descends and disperses lung Qi, resolves phlegm, clears heat and moistens lungs.
It is indicated for dry, rattling cough (acute or chronic) with sticky bits of yellow phlegm that are difficult to expectorate or alternately dry cough with small pieces of phlegm expectorated upon waking.
This formula may be appropriate for addressing such conditions as: acute or chronic bronchitis, asthma, pertussis (whooping cough), and emphysema.
Ning Sou Wan is not appropriate for use with coughs due to Wind-Cold invasion (e.g. a cold where there are also headaches, body aches and chills).
